Mathe. Kolloquium Prof. Ulrich Bunke (Regensburg): A motivic view on coarse geometry
Abstract:
I will introduce the category of bornological coarse spaces as a framework subsuming controlled topology and coarse geometry. In analogy to constructions in A^{1}-homotopy theory I will describe a category of motives of bornological coarse spaces. As an application I will explain how the coarse Baum-Connes conjecture is a motivic statement.
