Lutz Hille (Münster): Worm diagrams, quiver representations and spherical twists for algebraic surfaces
Abstract:
The talk starts with an elementary combinatorial construction called 'worm diagrams'. This can be seen as a graphical way to describe the possible games of the well-known children play 'musical chairs'. In the second part we give an interpretation of worm diagrams in terms of representations of a certain quiver that plays an important role for several open problems. Here I just mention Richardson's dense orbit theorem and the classification of tilting modules. In the last part we consider rational surfaces and give an interpretation of the worm diagrams for a classification problem on certain rational surfaces with spherical twists.
