Nicolas Frey is a researcher at the Institute of Medical Informatics and a member of the Data Analytics working group. He holds an M.Sc. in Human Factors from Technische Universität Berlin. In his doctoral work, he investigates how to effectively convey predictive uncertainty in clinical decision support systems.

Dissertation


The dissertation explores strategies to enhance transparency and trust in AI-enabled clinical decision support systems (CDSS) by effectively communicating predictive uncertainty. Grounded in human-centered design principles, the research examines how visual representations of uncertainty can influence clinicians’ decision-making processes.
