Abstract: The problem of protein structure prediction is considered solved since AlphaFold 2 has entered the field applying a novel machine learning technique. However, the prediction of RNA structure remains a challenging task, despite the analogy that a molecular sequence bonds with itself and builds complex structural conformations that determine its functionality. The accurate determination of RNA structure is essential for understanding its functions, which include catalyzing biochemical reactions and regulating gene expression. In this talk, I discuss which opportunities and obstacles exist to transfer the success of protein structure prediction to the field of RNA.
