Named Entity Recognition in Forensic Data Analytics
Abstract: For forensic data analytics data storage media are collected to analyse the data files contained therein. The challenge is to find relevant information within millions of emails, chat protocols, and other documents while protecting personal identifiable information wherever possible. Named entity recognition is used to limit the number of files that need human investigation. This talk will highlight the underlying statistical methods such as maximum entropy and neural networks. Further, the performance and the challenges of these methods will be summarized.
