Climate Modeling
Today's Earth System Analysis and Climate Research depend on computer simulation as one of their main research tools.
The computer codes employed to realize such simulations are in various ways not designed in agreement with established standards of applied mathematical modelling and numerical analysis, because there simply are no such standards at this time that would properly account for the multiscale nature and tremendous complexity of the systems considered.
Our research group aims to contribute to bridging this gap by developing advanced abstract mathematical models as well as related computational techniques.
