Founded in 2012 as a project of the Wikimedia Foundation, Wikidata is the largest open knowledge database. Its structured data model, unlike text-centric platforms such as Wikipedia, is comprehensible to both humans and machines, vastly expanding its utility beyond Wikimedia projects. In this talk, I delve into the fundamental aspects of Wikidata, highlighting the importance of diversity within its framework to fulfill its overarching goal of 'serving anyone anywhere in the world.'
During the second talk, I introduce my proposed concept for measuring diversity within Wikidata and share my findings on its existing diversity level. Additionally, I unveil the impact of bot edits on diversity, considering that bots, being the most active contributors, account for the majority of edits on the platform.
