Effect of membrane lipid phosphorylation on protein recruitment at molecular and cellular scales
The project aims to investigate the structural and mechanistic role of polyphosphorylated inositol phospholipids (PIPs) and their ability to switch cellular function by changes in phosphorylation state using theoretical and computational methods. We will conduct theoretical and computational analyses of the effects of membrane phosphorylation on the atomistic and the cellular scale and establish relationships between the two scales. In the long run, we will develop a multi-scale in silico laboratory for studying the relationship between membrane phosphorylation and protein distribution and traffic.
