On Saturday, June 17th, CRC 1114 participated in 2023’s Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften. To showcase our focus on cascades of scales, we offered “Kleine und große Spiele für kleine und große Leute” (Small and big games for people of all ages). Several of our PhD students worked hard to prepare both games and some scientific background on posters, which they then ran for the 7 hours of the Long Night.

The CRC office team and spokesperson Marita Thomas introduced the many visitors to the CRC and let visitors spin the wheel to win some small prices after they had participated in the activities provided. Our room of games was well filled with many visitors all through the night, many of them children.

Julian Hille also participated in the Physics department's "Science Slam" and explained what "Scaling Cascades in Complex Systems" are.
