The goal of the joint research project AdaptHydroMod is essentially the development of a general methodology for modeling and simulating coupled hydrological processes. The methods that are constructed in this context are supposed to automatically adapt to various conditions and modifications within the processes observed. In other words: the goal is the development of a generic, model-adaptive approach for simulating and modeling coupled hydrological processes. The focus of our work is the treatment of coupled surface and groundwater flow. We aim to develop a simulation package, that may for instance be used for analyzing the effects of the climate change, of building activities, or soil surface cultivation to the dynamics of the surface and groundwater flow.
