Title
Understanding the Moduli Spaces of Riemann Surfaces through Virasoro Operators
Date, Time and Place
16.01.2025, 4:15 pm, Arnimallee 6 - Room 108/109
Abstract
The Kontsevich-Witten theorem, originally conjectured by Witten and later proven by Kontsevich in 1992, establishes a profound connection between the geometry of moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces and integrable systems. This theorem has long been of interest, inspiring various proofs and further exploration. Recent advancements have incorporated Virasoro operators and Schur functions, which are symmetric polynomials that describe the characters of irreducible representations of the symmetric group. Our work has contributed to this ongoing area of research.
In this talk, I will provide an overview of the theorem and present insights from our related work, along with prospects for future developments.
