How do minds work? What is a cognitive system? How do natural and artificial cognitive systems work? What do they have in common?

This seminar provides an introduction to basic concepts, terminology, and methods used in the interdisciplinary study of cognitive systems. It covers foundations of perception, memory and reasoning, emotion and motivation, problem solving and creativity in natural cognitive systems (including human minds) and artificial ones - the software which aims to imitate, understand, emulate or support them. An introduction to methods from psychology and informatics, cognitive modelling and architectures is also provided.
