Panel Discussion: "My movement data for sustainable mobility? Yes, but anonymously please!" by FreeMove at Berlin Science Week 2021
News from Oct 29, 2021
November 5, 2021 at 3:30 pm, there will be the panel discussion "Meine Bewegungsdaten für eine nachhaltige Mobilität? Ja, aber bitte anonym!" (My movement data for sustainable mobility? Yes, but anonymously please!) by the research project FreeMove at Berlin Science Week 2021.
Berlin Science Week will take place from November 1st - November 10th, 2021.
In the panel discussion we will explore the tension between data protection, digital innovation and the promise of sustainable mobility. The use of movement data is a core element of many innovations in the field of sustainable mobility. The use of movement data is necessary for many services and yet particularly critical from a data protection perspective due to the existing information density.
For many mobility service providers and administrations, the right to privacy and the necessary data protection that goes with it means more legal uncertainty, investment and communication. An investment without profit, a brake on innovation it seems.
How can innovative mobility services based on movement data and data protection be thought together? We want to discuss this question with you.
Together with legal scholars, mobility experts, privacy experts and company representatives we want to discuss controversially, differentiate and explore new solution spaces for privacy compatible innovation.
The panel discussion will be in german.
