News from Oct 11, 2021
Registration is still open to take part in HoloLab #2 on 13. and 14. October (online).
HoloLab #2 is part of a series of events within the funding initiative "dive_in". This program is funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation and supports cultural organisations with developing innovative educational programmes which explore new forms of digital interaction and participation.
Katrin Glinka (Head of HCC Data Lab) will contribute to HoloLab #2 with a presentation on "Visitor-oriented Design Research". Web-based search access to digitized collections, multimedia guides for exhibitions, or audience-oriented communication in social media have now established themselves as formats of digital knowledge transfer and communication in cultural institutions. Now the question arises: Which novel interaction formats can be implemented with digital technologies for a diverse audience? In her talk, Katrin Glinka will use examples from her many years of research and museum practice to show what mediation potential digital technologies with their variety of interaction forms can open up in the cultural context - and where the challenges lie in the conception, development and use.
