Ulrike Schäfer is a researcher at the HCC research group focusing responsible AI. She is currently part of the project „enkis – Establishment of Sustainable Study Programs for Responsible Artificial Intelligence" at the Freie Universität Berlin.
She has a Background in Psychology (B. Sc., TU Dresden) and Human Factors (M. Sc., TU Berlin). Besides her studies, she tutored statistics at the Technical University of Berlin and worked in the field of Data Analytics.
Her PhD focus is on improving human-AI collaboration with human-centered approaches. Currently she investigates the influence of uncertainty representations and guidance on task performance and the user's mental model of the AI. In addition, she collaborates with Svetlana Wähnert to research aftereffects in Virtual Reality environments.
