Title: Deutsche Bank's perspective on emerging DLT-based forms of money
On January 21, 2025, Maximilian Baum from Deutsche Bank will come to the Freie Universität Berlin and give a talk on "Deutsche Bank's perspective on new DLT-based forms of money". The working group Dependable Systems cordially invites everyone interested to this expert talk:
Abstract: Central banks as well as the private sector are expanding the portfolio of digital money in the monetary system. All large transaction banks are looking into tokenized deposits by launching first products on the market. >90% of all central banks globally are working on central bank digital currencies (CBDC). During the second quarter of 2024, stablecoins amounted to $8.5 trillion in transaction volume surpassing traditional payment methods as Mastercard, Visa and PayPal. What are the differences between stablecoins, tokenised deposits and CBDCs? Which projects are the most relevant to follow and what is Deutsche Bank's perspective and involvement?
