Daniel studied IT Security at Ruhr-Universität Bochum with a focus on embedded cryptography and finished his M.Sc. in spring 2021. During his studies, he worked at the chair for security engineering and supported its research and educational activities. For his bachelor thesis, he joined the Fraunhofer AISEC institute in Garching (Munich), where he analyzed the entropy behavior of ring oscillator PUFs under physical tampering. His master thesis, which addressed topics such as physical layer security, radio frequency technology and tamper detection of critical infrastructures, was a collaboration between the chair for embedded security and Physec, a company providing security solutions for the IoT. After his studies, Daniel joined the Cybersecurity & AI group at Freie Universität Berlin as a PhD student in late 2021 and now focuses on research in the field of physical layer security, secure authentication for the IoT, machine learning, as well as a project on the 6G technology.
