Waste Water Pathogen Project
Measurements of pathogens by PCR, WGS/NGS measurements and
Shotgun Metagenomics in untreated wastewater samples
Efficient wastewater screening requires several key aspects at the level of bioinformatic data
analysis, data management and presentation of the results. The aim is to achieve a high degree of
automation using quality control mechanisms at various points along the entire process chain.
For the analyses of the different data generated within the project, complex multi-section
analysis pipelines have to be developed and maintained, which reflect the current best practice in
the field of NGS-based metagenomic analysis and are stable, portable and easy to use.
